With the trees now showing signs of autumn and having berries of some kind and with teasels around the place I had a go at photographing the birds on branches laden with berries and on teasel.
First I found a few suitable perches and set the one with Hawthorne berries on in front of the morning hide, it didn’t take long for the birds to try it out.
Here is a few on the Hawthorne branch.

I had a break to help Bob with the bees then switched over to the main hide and tried to get them onto an Oak branch with acorns I had found.

I only managed this blue tit but its a start, I needed to find a stronger branch I think and by now it was midday and 27 degrees so the birds started to flag a bit.
I then cleaved in half and drilled a piece of chestnut then inserted some teasel into the holes and placed it under a sunflower feeder and waited.
The birds just wasn’t having it and landed mostly on the feeder but as I was about to change things when a juvenile Goldfinch came in and landed.
Several families of Goldfinch have nested in the wood or nearby and as it gets colder and their natural food decreases i hope to get more visiting and they should get easier to photogragh.

Then I had this Wren sunbathing amongst the log pile, it looked really funny stretched right out enjoying the sun, I have seen this several times but never had my camera handy till today.
Then to finish off this bank vole put in an appearance.
Thats it for today as I had to get back to work for 3pm so left them to it.
