I have spent little time with the owls over the last year, letting them get on with things as I’ve been busy with other projects.
I was working under the nestbox around February, digging up holly trees when an owl flew out of the box, so I knew at least the owls were checking it out.
Last Friday I spent a few hours with them, the male was feeding two youngsters and probably the female too, and came in 10 times or more.
Here are some shots I took during the evening session, you can see the male is worst for wear as its belly/chest feathers have taken a beating going in and out of the nestbox.
