For the last two years long tailed tits have moved through the wood but have never stopped to feed at any of my feeding stations, that is until last night when I had 6 feeding by the pond hide.
Today with only one guest booked in I staked it out with them to see if they would return.
At about 9.30 I heard their familiar calls and they soon they appeared on and around the log pile staying for a few minutes.
I managed a few record shots and left my guest to enjoy the flurry of birds and later he had several visits from male and female sparrowhawks, missing on all occasions.
