NEW WOODPECKERS AND GRASS SNAKE TOO

I spent most of Tuesday grass and hedge cutting, trying to keep the wood from taking over, and as a reward had two hours in one of my hides once everyone had gone home.

Loads of baby woodpeckers around and at least 4 coming into the feeding station. Nice to see that the Stock doves are still coming in but very wary, you just got to move slow and try not to spook them.

Later on, I saw something move in the drinking pool and close inspection saw a grass snake with just its head out of the water, it had really blue eyes which is an indicator it’s about to shed its skin.

Other birds included 4 species of tit, nuthatch, jays, song thrush, etc.
