Tawny owl update 3.7.21

I stayed behind Saturday night to check in on the owls, as it’s my first year photographing these amazing creatures I am still learning things about them and have a question still unanswered.

Where is the female as I haven’t seen her since the end of March and it seems only the male is feeding the chicks?

They are not active now until around 10 pm and the male comes in for food and reluctantly feeds the chicks which call constantly. Sometimes he disappears for a while and comes in from the dark to grab another mouse and feeds them.

I did manage some photos which are still possible but not as regular when they first fledged.
