Will it ever stop raining ?

I thought I would try and document Millers wood as I go through the seasons in my 1st year, at the moment its raining again but at least its fulling up the pond.
Very mild at the moment  (warmest winter on record apparently)  and I already have Bluebells and Primrose coming through the woodland floor.
Good news is I have been given a poly tunnel in which I will try and grow some plants for the wood and to keep them all safe from all my newly acquainted furry friends.
I have already earmarked a place for the poly tunnel and just need a bit more clearing, levelling and tidying up before I can erect it, and buy some plastic deer fence which I plan to place about 5 metres around the tunnel so when I have plants established I can then move outside to grow on, I will say right now that I am no real gardener but I am capable of putting seeds and soil together in pots and see what happens, not sure what I will grow yet anybody got any advice ?
I did read about the Spurge family of plants which the rabbits don’t like as they contain a milky sap so might try and grow a few of these.
In the next few weeks I will also start to buy a few native trees and like the look of Bird cherry as a starter for the meadow area and some field maple to add a bit of colour, I will buy these as bare root which come just like a twig and should spring into life in the coming months as the sun starts to lengthen its days and warm the soil.
These bare root trees are good value for money at around 50 pence each for a 3 – 4 ft sapling so wont break the bank if I get it wrong.
Planting the trees is another matter as the soil in places is not great so will need a lot of organic matter which I have started saving in my new compost bins and I can collect some from KPS composting site at Pease pottage at a very reasonable price.
Rain forecast all day for tomorrow but might try and fit a few hours in, I’ve got my waterproofs ready.
