CHECKIN WITH THE TAWNY’S 3.2.22
Stayed behind last night 3.2.22 to see how the owls are doing and had a photo in mind to try and get which involved the owl landing in the pool on a stump giving a perfect reflection in the water.
Close but no cigar, I mucked it up by leaving another post in the way which blocked off a foot of reflection and clipped the wings.
Never mind next time.
Here’s the shot I was after, but ideally with the bits missing.

I saw two birds around but only the male came in, I think they have paired up and have mating on the agender so still early days as once they start to nest the action increases as he feeds the female at the nest and gathers twice as much food, meaning more visits.
I managed some other shots from a total of four visits in about 4 hours, here are a few from the session.
All taken with my Nikon Z6 and 300ml lens.
Owl workshops starting soon, contact me for details.
