The weather this week has been very cold with a scattering of snow around the South east, some areas worse than others.
This morning I had arranged to meet Ingrid at the wood with the understanding that if it was too bad we would knock it on the head until better times, well minus 7 0C and icy roads but clear skys had me scraping the ice from the wind screen and gingerly heading for the wood.
I left at 7.50 and got there, just around 8.20 after loosing control of the car sever times on the track leading to the wood but kept cool and managed to keep the old girl on track.
It never got above minus 3 today but I put the log burner on in the main hide which made it bearable and from which we spent around 3 to 31/2 hrs photographing the birds.
Well here is a large selection what I managed to capture in this short time and it was quite a challenge with one minute bright sunshine then black clouds moving through but all the same very enjoyable as I havnt photographed in the snow for years.
Here some from today.
Thanks for looking and the hides are always open – if we can get there.
