I’m lucky enough to live with open fields at the back of my home and this time of year they start to prepare the soil for planting.
I noticed last evening there was loads of gull following a tractor and could hear the calls of Mediterranean gulls, they sound like cats meowing so quite distinctive, I grabbed my camera and went over to the field.
The tractor was ploughing a field of around 30 acres so it would pass me every 1/2 hour or so and I had a minute to try and grab some shots before they went into the sun.
It was very sunny, so quite tricky with white birds not to blow them out and I estimate there to be around 200 birds amongst 4oo gulls present.
Here’s some from the hour I spent with them.
