With the Jays coming for food each day I decided it would be great to give them a floating platform on which to feed and hopefully get some nice reflections.
I found an old log about a meter long and fixed it so it wouldn’t spin by fitting two sand bags either end and then placing it in the pond.
It took a couple of days before they where confident to feed on it but all week they have been giving the photographers some great shots.
Yesterday I also built a single post which I attached to a Christmas tree stand and placed that next to the log, giving them an alternative perch.
All week I have been watching my guests get some great shots and today was my turn, I arrived at 9 and baited the logs and then got comfy in the hide, weather not great with cloud cover and a few spits on rain but not complaining still nice to be out.
