Visit from a young Buzzard
On the way to the wood this morning I saw a dead rabbit on the road at Amberley, I made a quick u-turn and put it in the back of the truck.
Once I had got ready for my two guests arriving I tethered the rabbit to a log and arranged it in place.
When they were settled in the pond hide awaiting the Kingfisher I got ready in the hide I use for the owls on the other side of the wood and could hear young buzzards calling to each other, probably begging for food.
An hour later one flew in and landing in a large pine tree and sat there for 45 mins before finally descending onto the rabbit, reading about buzzard photography they always say wait till they start feeding before you take any photo’s but as I was using my Nikon Z6 in silent shutter mode and the lens was fixed on the rabbit I started to fire off some shots.
Here are a few from the encounter which lasted around an hour.
