What’s been happening latley
I haven’t posted in a while, not that I get a chance to photograph whenever I want, I think a lot of people think that I shoot every day or at least once every week but to be honest maintaining the site takes up most of my time.
I have started a winter clear-up which also includes coppicing more trees and cutting back brambles which if left unchecked would take over the wood.
So as well as maintenance, I have just started another project at Millers Wood, I am trying to create a food forest, for me and the wildlife, something I started earlier in the year by making my own compost, I also bought 8 IBC tanks to collect and store rainwater for next season as I only have rainwater and no mains.
I have cleared several areas already and planted 12 gooseberry bushes, 40 strawberry plants, 8 raspberry plants, and 2 loganberries, and will be adding more over the winter.
Well back to the photography, I was over the moon when after several months a young female Kingfisher turned up, and looks like she’s staying a while.
I had a last-minute cancelation on Monday so made the most of it and spent the morning in the pond hide.
I managed some nice shots between the constant showers and really enjoyed the short session.
All taken with my Z9 and 400 4.5 lens and Kingfisher still present so if you fancy a go, get in touch.
Here’s a few from the session.
