I only had one photographer in the hides yesterday, Lucas from SE London, and whilst chatting with him he mentioned that he was going to try and see the White-throated sparrow after we finished.
I was already seeing the info come up several times that morning on the web so knew it was still there and I decided to go with him, It was a 37 min drive according to google maps to Barcombe cross, we left at 2.45 and were there for 3.30.
We parked in the village and found the place and when we arrived on site the bird was on show for a few secs before diving into a bush out of sight.
It was singing a beautiful little song and appeared regularly but usually hidden by vegetation and not a clear shot.
Eventually, it landed on a picnic table out in the open for great views, and this is where I got most of my shots.
I only had my 300ml with me and luckily Lucas borrowed me a 2 x teleconverter which helped no end.
Anyone who wanted to visit please be respectful to others and the bird which seemed quite obliging at times so a little patience and you will get some shots.
